From classroom learning to construction sites: Unit 06 of FACE – Façade Architecture Construction and Engineering brought participants to Milan for an intensive on‑site learning experience.
The unit focused on translating façade design principles into real construction practice. Thanks to the contribution of UNICMI, and in particular Paolo Rigone, Valentina Guerra and Paolo Giussani, participants attended technical lectures and visited major projects including CityWave, the BEIC Library, and a hotel construction site in Viale Scarampo, gaining direct insight into façade systems, construction processes and site management.
As part of the programme, WICONA / Domal also provided access to Palazzo Galbani, where an ongoing façade refurbishment offered a concrete case study of retrofit strategies.
