TU Darmstadt

Institute of Structural Mechanics and Design

Miriam co-leads the Glass and Polymer Group at the Institute of Structural Mechanics (ISM+D) and Design at TU Darmstadt since 2022 and works as a Postdoctoral Researcher on the sustainability and circularity of glass in construction, with a focus on the evaluation of reuseability and remanufacturing. In addition, she began working part-time as a Structural Engineer at CSZ Ingenieurconsult CORNELIUS-SCHWARZ-ZEITLER GmbH in April 2025.

From November 2023 to April 2024, she served as a Substitute Professor in the Department of Structural Mechanics at TU Darmstadt. She is an active member of the standardization committee “Glass in Civil Engineering” and represents ISM+D in the German Association of Structural Glass.

In her dissertation "Characterization of laminated safety glass interlayers – thermorheology, crystallinity and viscoelasticity" focused on the mechanical and thermal behavior of polymer interlayers in laminated safety glass.
