Simone is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Trento, Italy, and an Honorary Lecturer at the UCL Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering in London, UK. With a background in acoustic consultancy, engineering within the building industry, and research on Indoor Environmental Quality, he earned his Ph.D. in Civil, Environmental, and Mechanical Engineering with honors in 2022 from the University of Trento, in collaboration with Eurac Research and University College London.

Simone's research focuses on the interplay between acoustic perception, people, and the environment, both in built and natural settings. His work has advanced soundscape science in indoor built environments and protected natural areas through initiatives like Silenzi in Quota, which was awarded the Highly Commended John Connell Soundscape Award 2023.
